A known sex offender has been jailed for importing a childlike sex doll from China.
The offending object was brought to court to show a judge before he sentenced Alan Riley for "improper importation of indecent or obscene articles".
The 63-year-old, of Petersham Mews, Lenton, was also dealt with for having more than 700 indecent still or moving images of children.
Riley sat in the dock wearing glasses, a red top, black jacket and trousers, and wearing a hearing loop at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday (July 24).

He entered his plea to the child sex toy charge, an offence between June 1, 2016, and December 31, 2016, this morning (Monday, July 24).
He had already admitted making indecent photos of a child.
And he was in breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, imposed by a court to monitor any contact with children and computer use.
The court heard Riley was on the sex offenders' register and was given the prevention order after he was caught with indecent images of children.
This time the police found his latest haul of horrific images of children when they discovered his computer had been used to download other images.
During the search, the heavy doll with rubberised skin was discovered in stockings and suspenders and wearing a dress that appeared to have little images of rabbits on.
The doll, bought for £300, weighed under three stone.

Abigail Hill, prosecuting, told the court the doll's measurements were compared to the World Health Organisation data.
The weight compared to the similar measures of child of two years and nine months to four years and ten months, with an average of three years and eight months.
In police interview Riley said he bought the doll "a while ago" because "it was cheap" and claimed it was an oriental woman.
He said he did not like it and he only watched TV with it, said Mrs Hill.
"He agreed it was a sex toy," she said.
When the toy arrived, he said it looked younger than he thought.
Lauren Fisher, the solicitor representing Riley, said: "It's been hard for him to admit he has made a terrible mistake in ordering that."
She also said there was "no suggestions he used the doll".
"He says he hasn't used it and it merely watched television with it," she added.

Judge James Sampson adjourned for the doll, wrapped completely in brown paper parcel packaging, to be taken through the courtroom by a police officer under his arm into a back room for the judge to have a look at what he was dealing with.
He said earlier: "Given it is an extraordinary case, I need to see the doll."
The judge jailed Riley for 16 months for the importation charge and gave him an eight-month consecutive sentence on an indecent image charges. Concurrent sentences were passed on the remaining charges.
A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was made indefinitely and a lifetime order to sign the sex offenders' register.
And the judge ordered the forfeiture and destruction of he computer equipment and the doll.
He said: "It was certainly imported for sexual gratification. It is dressed in a sexual manner. It is a chilling model of a child."
